The 2013 Nelson Mandela Championship is being played with heavy hearts, with the tournament's namesake passing away at the age of 95 on Dec. 5.
Organizers made the wise call to move the start of this event back to Wednesday in order to respect the former president’s state funeral on Sunday, according to the Sunday Tribune.
Unfortunately, rain has been a major issue during the initial days of this event, and many competitors have yet to complete the first round heading into Friday.
Hopefully the weather will clear up in time for the tournament to be completed and avoid clashing with Mandela’s impending service.

The action has moved to Mount Edgecombe this year, but it seems the story is the same.
Can Jamieson pull off another victory in similar conditions, or will another champion arise to claim the second annual Nelson Mandela Championship?
