Newcastle United and Manchester City get back to English Premier League play after disappointing results in their FA Cup matches over the weekend.

Newcastle was ousted from the FA Cup with their 2-1 home loss to Cardiff and Manchester City must play a replay after their 1-1 draw with Championship side Blackburn.

Manchester City has had their issues on the road this season, but they remain a big betting favorite over Newcastle.

Sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com had EPL betting lines with Manchester City at -163 and Newcastle at +450. The draw line was +275 as of Tuesday afternoon.

Newcastle has lost two straight EPL matches and they will be facing a Manchester City squad that is unbeaten in their last nine league matches and has won five straight.

City is in second place in the league table only trailing Arsenal by one point with Newcastle in eighth place.

Newcastle gave up two goals in their FA Cup match over the weekend, more than they had allowed in six previous matches. Offense has been the issue lately, as the team has gone scoreless in two recent league matches before scoring one in their recent FA Cup encounter.

The City offense is a great one and has scored the most goals in league play. Sergio Aguero is the team’s leading goal scorer, but he is out with an injury.

Even if you take away Aguero’s 13 tallies, the squad would be second in the league in goals, only two behind Liverpool.

Alvaro Negredo and Yaya Toure have combined for 18 goals on the season and are the key players that the Newcastle defense has to key on.

Newcastle has some injury issues, as goalkeeper Tim Krul missed the recent FA Cup match and is a question mark. Midfielder Yohan Cabaye, who ranks third on the squad in goals, is also questionable.

City looked as if they had turned the corner on their road problems, scoring seven goals in two recent away matches. But the lame display against Blackburn is cause for continued concern.

The Newcastle duo of Loic Remy and Yoan Gouffran, who have combined for 16 goals this season, will test City's defenses.

Prediction: 3-1 Man City
