This weekend saw Super Rugby make its much-anticipated return to the Southern Hemisphere's calendar, one of the most physical competitions in the sport that we can all be glad is back to satiate our bone-crunching tackle needs.

North of the equator, the Six Nations had a week's break, allowing Europe's best and brightest to return to their club settings for a change of collision-crazy scenery.

With red cards in the abundance this weekend, a number of unfortunate tackles and less unfortunate fisticuffs saw several of this week's entrants handed their marching orders early.

However, it wasn't just members of the opposition trying to knock players out, as Biarritz winger Teddy Thomas found out during the loss to Toulouse.

All that and more await as we once again delve into the biggest hits in world rugby this week.
