High winds added a challenging dimension to a tough new redesigned course at Trump National Doral, as four golfers took their one under par scores to the clubhouse with a share of the lead on Friday at the WGC-Cadillac Championship.

After an early start on Friday to complete a first round that was interrupted by a thunderstorm on Thursday, steady gusts of wind up to 35 miles per hour wreaked havoc on an elite field as they struggled to keep their balls out of the water and the bunkers.

In the end, just four golfers were able to escape the first two days of competition below even par. Patrick Reed, Hunter Mahan, Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar enter the weekend tied at one under.

With the tough conditions, plenty of golfers are still in contention. After sinking an amazing 92 foot birdie putt on the fourth, Tiger Woods is six shots off the lead at five over, tied for 25th with a group of players that also includes Phil Mickelson.

The wind is expected to die down overnight, leading to a very different complexion for Saturday's competition. With no cut, all 68 golfers who made it through Friday will have a chance at redemption in the final two days at Doral.
