A penultimate round of Six Nations action didn't fail to impress this weekend. England, Ireland and France all took steps toward claiming this year's championship, while Wales' chances of defending their title were all but ended at Twickenham.

With so much world-class talent on show, the standard of the tackling rose in kind, with Wales, England, Ireland and Italy getting particularly feisty.

In fact, the onslaught was so disastrous that referee Romain Poite even got caught up in the whirlwind, undoubtedly left with a few marks as a result.

South of the equator, Round 4 of the Super Rugby season ensured that those in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa also feature.
