Ryan has yet to fill out a bio.
BCS Formula applied to college basketball
A little late, but you're welcome, hope they were helpful!
PG: Craft SG: Smith Jr. SF: Thompson PF (stretch 4): Ross C: Amir Williams
Bench: Shannon Scott (getting tons of minutes), Kameron Williams, Marc Loving....then a big drop off in terms of minutes to Trey McDonald and Amedeo Della Valle
Lack of recent NCAA tourney experience...Hill and Parrom were big contributors to the Elite 8 team 2 years ago and Mark Lyons has been deep in the tournament each of the last three years. Granted the freshman may not have recent experience but the rest of the team has a fair amount.
Thanks Ryan and I did not know your history of past picks - maybe a little west coast defensiveness about the sports media.. my apologies. I love B/R ( I work for a media company myself not as journalist - but as sales manager. To comment in general about PAC12 - what happened to Stanford and Cal this year? They were supposed ot be much better and Utah is turning out to be a much better team than expected. General trends over the last few years are that UW is declining and is not getting the same players they once did....CU, AZ, UCLA, and Oregon are and will be the top teams for the foreseeable future. Why cant USC year after year and coach after coach (Kevin O'Neill?? please!!) be better... that university makes no sense why basketball cant be better. Last comment UNM with Steve Alford will only ever be so good - they need a top caliber coach and they will be top 20 teams in the future - watch Alford coach and he is miserable and boring borin style of play.
Odd reasons for not liking AZ - "they win close games" (would you rather they lose them? - what a strange comment?) and they have little post season experience? Since when did youth stop teams from winning in the tournament the last few years? Are you sure you have even watched them play more than a few highlight minutes on sports center? Fans in the west are used to writers in the mid-west / east making generalizations about Mtn. or West coast teams without hardly seeing them play at all. (Gonzaga, New Mexico, UNLV SDSU, AZ and Oregon - most writers do give UCLA the benefit of the doubt only because of pedigree - not that they have seen much of the team play)
Appreciate you becoming my latest fan. I enjoy your stuff and will definitely return the favor.
